Plain terms for a guarded bookkeeping app.
Working launch language. Final public paid launch should be reviewed by counsel and tax advisors.
Use of NORTHSTAR
NORTHSTAR Lite is bookkeeping software for recording, organizing, verifying, and exporting small-business accounting evidence. It is not a bank, tax preparer, CPA firm, payroll provider, audit firm, or legal advisor.
Pricing
Launch pricing is $9.99 for initial purchase and $1.99/month for continued access. If a subscription lapses, reinstall/reactivation is $5.00 and covers re-onboarding, restore checks, and payment-state reset.
NORTHSTAR Gives
$1.00/month from each active subscription and $2.50 from each reinstall/reactivation fee is tracked for routing by JourdanLabs to the customer-selected charity, subject to charity eligibility, written permission, and final launch disclosures.
Tax and accounting boundary
NORTHSTAR can organize receipts, W-9 readiness, 1099 watchlists, tax categories, close blockers, and accountant packets. It does not file tax returns, provide tax advice, interpret tax law, certify deductible treatment, issue audit opinions, or replace review by a qualified professional.
Local-first web build
The current web app stores workspace data in the user's browser storage. Users are responsible for exporting backups before clearing browser data, switching browsers, or wiping devices. Cloud accounts and server-enforced roles are a later production step.
Owner Sentinel
Owner Sentinel signals are evidence prompts, not accusations. They are designed to alert owners to verify support, W-9s, unmatched withdrawals, non-owner entries, and missing approvals. Accountant/bookkeeper exports redact Owner Sentinel evidence.
Launch status
These are working launch terms for beta access. Public paid launch should receive final legal, tax, privacy, and charity-disclosure review before broad distribution.
